I'm Katherine Singh, a nationally-recognized journalist and editorial strategist who helps brands and publications create culture-first stories that garner attention and create conversations—not just clicks.
Over the past eight years, I've developed editorial campaigns, reported features, done celebrity interviews and branded storytelling for publications including The Globe and Mail, Refinery29 and ELLE Canada, and for brands including Samsung, Intel, Sephora and Air Canada.
I was previously an Entertainment Staff Writer at Refinery29 and the Assistant Editor at FLARE. Most recently, I was a Senior Editor at 3 Magazine.
I’ve had bylines in The Globe and Mail, ELLE Canada, The Kit, FASHION, and Chatelaine, among others, and have written sponsored copy for Shopify, Mastercard Foundation, Backbone Angels, and The Globe Content Studio.
From 2022-2023, I was the pop culture columnist for CBC’s Metro Morning, and have represented my work as a culture expert on The National, BBC Radio, and CBC’s Here and Now.
I write and edit stories about what I love: entertainment and culture, health, sex and relationships, money and politics. I have a distinct voice and love to share unique stories in a fresh way. Recently, I’ve written about how workplace fun has changed post-pandemic, the ethics around wearing vintage fur, how dating apps are adapting for the use of AI on their platforms, and what the viral “demure” trend says about how we view women.
I’m also able to easily adapt, producing copy that understands and speaks to varying audiences.
And, I’m *a bit* of a people pleaser—which in this case is a good thing. Because I always put my best foot—and work—forward. I produce super clean copy and don’t miss deadlines. I’m very receptive to edits and constructive criticism, am always wanting to chat out ideas and ways to make a piece better, and am able to turn around edits with efficiency.
